Custom Wrought Iron Doors in Dallas

Custom Wrought Iron Doors are the popular choice of an entryway.  Not only are they beautiful and more structurally sound than wooden doors, they are also becoming regularly used in applications relating to the home. Wrought Iron is tough, malleable, corrosion-resistant, and easily welded – all properties which give it the optimum properties for elegant and durable home furnishings.

WROUGHT IRON COMPOSITION AND CHARACTERIZATION

Wrought iron is composed primarily of elemental iron with small amounts (1–2 percent) of added slag. Wrought iron is made by repeatedly heating the material and working it with tools to reform it.

Wrought iron is highly malleable, allowing it to be heated, and re-heated, and worked into various shapes. The more it's worked on, the stronger it becomes. Characterized by its fibrous appearance, wrought iron doors are highly resistant to fatigue.  The greater corrosion resistance of wrought iron makes it an ideal material for wrought iron doors and grilles.

Wrought iron has been used for ages and can be found in notable applications throughout the world. One particularly notable application of crafted wrought iron is the timeless Eiffel Tour in Paris, France. The strength and longevity of the Eiffel Tour gives authority to the enduring rigidity and steadfastness of wrought iron.

OUR WROUGHT IRON FABRICATION PROCESS

Our manufacturers’ process starts with flat sheets of steel.  These sheets are then sheared and broken in factory to make our own tubing. In the end, what we create are beautiful hand-made iron doors. All the iron bar stock is heated and forged in-house, and the steel tubing is regularly scrutinized for consistent quality and proportionality. Our craftsmen’s trade has often been handed down from their fathers and grandfathers.

We can create any custom iron door that you can dream of.  We will help you with the design aspect of your door.  We consider every element from architecture of your home to your personal taste.  Once we understand how to draw your ideal entryway we can send your design to our factory.  From there, your iron door will begin to take form.

The History of Wrought Iron

The wrought iron doors you see on homes are not a recent concept, as many believe. In fact, they have a relatively long and rich history. Given that wrought iron is not credited as having been discovered until the Iron Age, which was over 3,200 years ago, wrought iron was an element that was already being found.
